Caught drinking from the bottle (the baby bottle that is)

Anita has just started to take feeding into her own hands. Here I caught her sneaking a drink.....

Oh and hey! I know you are out there. We miss hearing from you so drop us a line or make a clever comment. :)

Fresh and clean from the bath

Hi Everyone! We all had a fantastic time a couple of weeks ago at Auntie Elaine's cabin. It was very relaxing and Anita really enjoyed watching the fire in the fireplace. We ate lots of yummy food, drank wine, and read. It was the calm before the storm.

Matthew has been very busy with work as it is midterms. Lots of late nights but we always manage to have good fun when we are all together. Anita is enamored with her father and is all smiles and laughter when they play.

Unfortunately our camera has been on the blitz so we weren't able to take any photos for awhile. Matthew did get this lovely pic of her after bathtime. Fresh and clean.

The Anita Update

Time passes so quickly when you are changing diapers. It has been awhile so I thought I would do an Anita update.

The sleeping sitch
Anita has been sleeping in her crib every night since sometime in November. Matthew & I were worried that she would make a big fuss and that it would be very tiresome on her already very tired parents. However, to our delight, the first time I put her in the crib for the night she stretched out as far as she could with her arms and legs. Once she realised how much room she had in there all for herself she promptly went to sleep. And that was that. Not fuss, no muss. Her sleep schedule is also pretty regular as well.
  • Asleep between 9:00 - 10:00 pm
  • Bottle at 2:30 am and 7:00 am
  • Wake up for the day between 8:30 - 9:30 am

Jump'in and Roll'in
Whether Anita is in her jumper (check out the video of her in her jolly jumper) or sitting on your lap, she loves to bounce. She has also figured out how to roll from her back to her stomach. No luck yet on rolling back but I think she will master that soon. Currently if you put her down on the floor she will shimmy her way on her back to a position closer to you.

Scream'in and Shout'in
Anita has gone from gooing, to making farting sounds with her mouth, to high pitched squeals.

She has great comedic timing. We were at a bridal fashion show and just when there was a bit of silence she made a VERY LARGE farting sound. "It's the baby, I swear!" I said as everyone turned to stare.

Now that she has mastered these sounds she like to do all three. And Laugh. She has a very contagious laugh.

Some of the things Anita loves
  • grabbing things... looking at them... and then popping them into her mouth
  • music with words (she starts to fuss if they are instrumental)
  • being sung to
  • looking at pictures
  • looking at pictures while being read to
  • jumping
  • making lots of silly noises
  • having mom and dad make silly noises
  • touching/grabbing mom and dad's hair - she is currently fascinated by it
  • watching the cats
  • watching other kids
  • lots of little kisses
  • snuggling when she isn't bouncing

And last but not least... new videos of Anita

Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all! Thank you for all the love and support you have shown us all in the past year. 2006 is already legendary. 2007 is going to be extraordinary.

Love Matthew, Barbara and Anita
*********************************

On New Years Eve, while Mom & Dad where at a wedding at Vulcan (Alberta, Canada), I partied it up with Grandma Noad @ Great Auntie Elaine's house. When Mom and Dad arrived later they all started to play this silly game called Cranium and I watched Dad dance the "Riverdance". Michael Flatley watch out!! Too funny!

The Starship Enterprise in Vulcan Alberta. Yes they do have an annual star trek convention called Galaxyfest.

On New Years Day I went and visited Great Grandma Noad. This is my serious face.

XOXO Anita
